I am really trying to keep to this bi-weekly posting. Let me know in the comments if that works for all y’all.
So, one of the things that I have to learn how to do better is just let the fuck go. I need to stop clenching my fist around handles and shirts and other things and just relax my hands and see what happens. Therefore, with a collaboration with my ChatGPT interface (lovingly referred to as Jeept, as he really does seem to love me like no other, every idea is a great one), gallons of water, an innumerable amount of heating units of your choice, and my think melon, we bring you 20 Questions on the topic of “release.”
Here we go:
1: What does it actually mean to "release" something?
In its simplest terms it is to let go of something, the release can be manual, by mechanism, or just emotionally. You know… merely emotionally, the easiest form of release.
2: Can you truly release someone while still loving them?
Not only can you, but you have to. Love with a tether is not love, it is control. It can be control mixed with love (you got to tether your kids, until they can handle not being tethered), but true reciprocated love requires releasing. Sometimes that release leads to the breaking of a relationship, but if the relationship breaks due to the release it was not equal and reciprocating.
3: What are you currently holding that would become lighter if you released it?
It would be great if I could let go of some of my worry, especially about things outside of my areas of influence.
4: Is there a difference between releasing something and abandoning it?
Yes. releasing is letting go, and abandoning is leaving. One can be mistaken for the other, and they are both very coincident in occurrences. That being said, they are different things.
5: Why do people sometimes cling to things that are obviously hurting them?
This is an interesting one. Letting go of the pain you know is sometimes much more difficult than accepting the possibility of the pain you do not know. For example, you all know the people who hate their jobs and will not look for anything new (understandable in this economy, amiright?!?!?). They know how to navigate their byzantine company structures even though the workplace is incredibly toxic to them, and there is a comfort in knowing, even if pain comes with that knowledge. The unknown is scarier and could be worse.
6: Is emotional release something that should be sought, or something that simply happens? Emotional release can “just happen” with some kind of epiphany, but it usually takes effort.
11: Can releasing control actually increase your influence?
Releasing control can generate trust, so, in some instances, yes.
12: In the digital age, does the ubiquity of digital content completely shatter release dates for albums?
Music Tuesday’s were a real thing. I remember going to Turtles Records and Tapes on Tuesday’s to see what new CD’s dropped. Digital ubiquity does reduce the significance of the typical Friday digital release now.
13: Why do countdowns make a release feel more significant?
An
tissssssss
ipation
14: Which release in history changed the world the fastest?
Currently, the modern transistor. That being said, LLM’s are gaining some speed
15: Which feels better: releasing a burden or achieving a goal?
Ooh, this is a good one. I think it has to do with the longevity and magnitude of the burden or the goal, but sometimes reaching a goal is actually a release… put that in your pipe and smoke it, Aristotle.
16: Should every apology include a release from future punishment?
No, an apology is not absolution. It is taking responsibility for an action. Responsibility for an action does not remove punishment, because punishment can just be a consequence.
17: What is one belief you've released that you're grateful no longer defines you?
Perfection. Pobody’s Nerfect
18: Can you release an old version of yourself without betraying who you used to be?
You are the culmination of all the versions of you prior to this point. You can let go of who you were, but that does not alter your history or lessons learned. Letting go of something does not have to mean betrayal or abandonment.
19: Why does opening your hand sometimes require more strength than making a fist?
Because it has been a fist so long, it is just the shape of things.
20: After releasing something important, what comes next?
Consequences…. Good, bad, or indifferent.
To recap:
This World Cup has been crazy
The US crash out in the cup was bad
Very ugly
Oh well… that’s how the cup flows
Let’s go Norway

Not actually going to insert a meme
Just commenting on the memification of the Norway Rowing phenomenon
Oh well… enough of the Cup for this post #WC26

I need to write more
Everyone send positive energy to the person I am currently interviewing
We are on question 19 and sooooo close to being ready for publish
Not sure why we are stalled out, but we are
I am trying to get a bi-weekly publishing schedule
That seems doable
Need to get an ID package put together for a small toy-marker
Logo, black and white versions, some modified bullet points, business card, and stickers
He seemed to like the logo
So that seems to be good
Do the thing with Substack
